القيوم هو القائم بنفسه المقيم لغيره، الذي لا تأخذه سنة ولا نوم.
Al-Qayyoom means 'The Self-Subsisting' or 'The Sustainer of All'. It signifies that Allah is the One who sustains and maintains all existence. He is self-sufficient, not in need of anything, while all creation depends on Him for its existence and continuation. He manages the affairs of the universe and keeps everything in order.
