Al-Mutakabbir means 'The Supreme' or 'The Majestic'. It signifies that Allah is the One who is above all creation in greatness, majesty, and perfection. He is far exalted above the attributes of His creatures. His greatness is inherent and absolute, and He alone is worthy of all majesty and honor. This name indicates that all greatness belongs to Allah alone, and any perceived greatness in creation is but a reflection of His infinite majesty. Quran References: 'He is Allah, other than whom there is no deity, the Sovereign, the Pure, the Source of Peace, the Granter of Security, the Guardian, the Almighty, the Compeller, the Supreme (Al-Mutakabbir)' (59:23). 'Great is the word that comes out of their mouths; indeed, they utter nothing but a lie' (18:5). Spiritual Significance: Unlike arrogance in humans, which is blameworthy, Allah's 'Mutakabbir' is His rightful attribute of absolute greatness. He is above any need for comparison or competition. His grandeur is beyond human comprehension. Benefit: Reciting Al-Mutakabbir cultivates humility in the servant, as one recognizes that all true greatness belongs to Allah alone. It protects against arrogance and reminds us of our place before the Almighty. It brings awareness of Allah's infinite majesty and encourages sincere submission.
